Local Eats

Opened the egg carton to find a feather!
This is how fresh the eggs are at the grocery store.  And they're not refrigerated.

Avocados are called palta here and are a favorite in Chile.  Great smothered on sandwiches and hotdogs.  These are from my husband's barber who has a yard full of fruit trees.

We are really digging Peruvian food.  Ceviche can be so simple, clean, and fresh (shown with a side of choclo -corn).

This is called aji de gallina, a plate of tender chicken in a mild, creamy chile sauce. Especially great comfort food!

These last two photos are from a local Peruvian/Japanese restaurant called Six Bar.

An AMAZING discovery at the supermarket yesterday:

Two of my favorite ingredients... combined!

Buen Provecho!

A Summer Christmas

We went to a beautiful Christmas Eve mass on the beach at sunset.

Our tree!

Just what she wanted!

 Just what I wanted!

Found this buffet at an antique place.  Here:

Had to sift through a lot of junk, but I can't wait to go back.  There were some real finds!

Daddy assembles his gigantic new tent in the apartment.

Feliz Navidad!

The day after Christmas we had a
leisurely late lunch at one of our favorite restaurants and took a  stroll along the beach.

A most relaxing and enjoyable holiday!
