Summer Day in Olmué

Many people who live in Viña del Mar have "parcelas" or country homes in the interior.  The weather is  warmer and, usually, it's sunny.  There are also restaurants with pools and playgrounds where you can spend the entire day swimming and eating a leisurely BBQ lunch outdoors.  We were graciously invited by some friends to spend a day at their family's parcela.  We grilled chorizo, steaks, and ají chilis.  Olmué reminds me of Carmel Valley breaking out of the fogbank of the coast and into a narrow valley with a tree-lined main avenue populated by fruit and vegetable stands.

What a beautiful driveway!  Shaded by old, very established grape vines and hydrangea bushes.

 In the garden.

 Dessert! Doesn't get any fresher!

Yard filled with Avocado, pear, kumquat, and quince trees.

Surrounded by mountains.
